Public Services (formerly Auditor Treasurer)
Public Services is part of the administrative branch of local county government that provides services to the general public, county departments, other local governments, state and federal agencies, school districts and special districts. The County Public Services Director is an appointed position that serves as the county’s property taxation administrator, drainage administrator, chief election official and Board of Equalization member.
Duties of the Public Services Director office include management and planning, property taxation, drainage administration, and election administration. The office also administers the issuance of vital records (birth/death certificates, marriage licenses, etc.) and a variety of licenses and permits including tobacco, retail cannabis and hemp business, liquor, 3.2 malt liquor (beer), auctioneer, fireworks and transient merchant.
